MISDEMEANOR

Hey you guys, how have you been, hope it’s all good.

So getting straight at what I want to write about today. Today I decided to write about what I think could be the sins or the wrongs I cause towards my career.

Over the weekend I got into a conversation with a friend about his work and his workplace, everything I heard kept wowing me, but somewhere inside my soft convoluted mass of nervous tissue within the skull of vertebrates that is the controlling and coordinating center of the nervous system and the seat of thought, memory, and emotion, (sorry just wanted to show off that I studied biology till junior high!! Well it’s the brain I am talking about), there was a constant bickering with self why is my job not as interesting, did I choose the right career.

I am sure you all have had such conversations. I just need to tell you one thing STOP thinking cause those interesting jobs are what’s going to be the first to be overtaken by the AI, JUST KIDDING, but really you got to stop thinking like that.

You need to know that this is one of the deadliest sin you could be committing to your career. Remember the day you got into college dreaming all those big dreams about being exactly where you are, maybe a little late or a little fast or maybe just as you calculated. Remember that.

No job is not interesting, but it is definitely what you make of it.

this is what my dad always told me, and I can’t thank him enough for instilling this in my head from when I was 4 and maybe that’s the reason why I am writing this and not being stuck in a loop where I am dissatisfied by my career.

As many of you know, just last week I completed my one year of work anniversary at the first company that needed my skills. I know it’s been “just a year” as many may say, but it’s been 12 months that’s 365 days, which is , you know I can go on converting my year into hour and minutes and seconds, what I want to say is that it’s a long time at least for me to realize and also maybe help many of you reading this realize what are the misdemeanors we cause towards our career. Maybe then, just a maybe you might respect your career more and once you do that you will thrive.

So here are some that I saw wrong in me.

· DISSATISFACTION:

It is very important to have a certain level of satisfaction with whatever position we hold at work. Satisfaction must not be the cost of ambitions in one’s career. I believe all of us are strong enough to make a choice to change any of our circumstances. If we are not happy about our job, home or any other aspect of life we always have a power to change it. Just that, we need to have hope and the conviction that something different is possible.

· SELF-PITY

I had this tendency to believe that nothing is going to get better in my career, every time I reached a point that got me to something new and that being no so interesting in the likes of others. The best way to vanquish this feeling is gratitude. Gratitude, snaps me out of darkness and translates MY perspective from despair to hope. You have got to keep this in your mind always no one can make you work not interesting but you.

· COMPARISON:

I am sure all of us have committed this one sin at one or the other point of life and so we all know what this sin looks like. This can be the predecessor for most horrific symptoms of envy, greed, and self-loathing. We often try to use others life as a parameter to judge our own journey. This is one of the hardest sin to overcome but unless you do it, seldom you can feel happy about yourself.

· EGO

Possibly there is not a single human being in this vast universe of nothingness, who is devoid of ego. There is not much I can say here, we all know what we need to do to overcome this misdemeanor.

These here are just some of the sin we cause towards our well thought of career. All of us suffer from such sins but what is needed of you is don’t let them command you that’s the only way for you to have a successful and well the most interesting career of all time.
